Bible Verses About the King

Awe and Joy

Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved. Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The LORD reigneth. Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof: let the fields rejoice, and all that is therein. Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the LORD, because he cometh to judge the earth.

1 Chronicles 16: 30-33

King of the Earth

For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.

Psalm 47: 7

The Sublimeness of God

Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

1 Timothy 6: 15-16

A King Suits Us Well

Despite of the fact that we live in a so-called democracy, most people are still receptive and looking for someone or something shining, strong, admirable. Often this results in the distortedn hollow rapture for film stars, musicians or other VIPs.  This in turn is found, as we can understand, rather repulsive by more serious minded people.

The problem is however not the yearning for splendour and the high, but rather directing it towards "objects" that are the wrong ones for this purpose. God not only is almighty, but he also has an unfathomable exaltation and glory, which we can get excited about without a bland taste to it, because God is pure and good.
